Isabel Walker
A communications specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors, Isabel’s core skills are writing, editing, marketing and managing media relations.
She has worked at the highest level in the consumer and specialist (medical) media, including stints as Medical Correspondent of the Daily Mail and Sunday Telegraph.
Isabel founded the health charity Action on Pre-eclampsia (APEC) in 1991 and ran it as Director until 2000, gaining experience of all aspects of charity organisation.
She recently completed a five-year term as Non-Executive Director of her local Primary Care Trust.

Since 2000, Isabel has provided consultancy services to the private and voluntary sectors, including:
• Media and presentation skills training;
• Strategic planning;
• Media campaigns;
• Preparation/editing of user information in print and on the Web.
She has recently been working with a diverse range of clients, including:
• The Kings Fund - editing two high-profile reports, including the latest Wanless Report on the state of the National Health Service;
• Age Concern Gloucestershire and the Bromley Autistic Trust - review of all their communications materials;
• The Miscarriage Association - preparation of a new leaflet for employers
• Cancer and Bio-detection Dogs - pre-registration advice
• Several leading pharmaceutical companies - message development, media and presentation skills training.
Isabel is co-Director of Andis Communications Ltd and a Director of the Charity Runners Clearing House, which helps charities raise funds via the Flora London Marathon.

She is a trustee of the Peace Hospice, Watford, and also of Chorleywood Choral Society, for whom she regularly organises concerts and associated fundraising events.
She is a member of the Medical Journalists Association and the XC Consultants Group.
